This book really did not hold my interest.

The Man Who Led a Dream Life
David Handler
David Handler's Stewart Hoag series is one of my favorite series. I especially like the ones set in NYC, so this one was exactly my cup of tea.

The Surrogate Mother
Freida McFadden
Reading this book gave me stress for Abby when things didn’t go according to plan and get worse and worse. In typical Freida fashion, there are the classic twists and surprises. Another book I had to just keep reading because I had to know what happened.

The Loom Tree
Angela Mi Young Hur
Thank you to Angela Mi Young Hur, Kensington Publishers and Goodreads for a copy of The Loom Tree. I don't give away spoilers in my reviews. The first thing I saw when I read the inside cover was "You Always Wanted Magic to be Real"which intrigued me to read further. I am a new to fantasy reader (past year or so) and love discovering new to me authors. V is the daughter of Sharon and this book is told in two POVs. Sharon's story takes up most of the book. Sharon's story begins when she was a Korean American teenager entering Alvsdahl - an exclusive East Coast college. Sharon isn't sure where she fits in - like most teenagers, including V many years later. I did like the college setting and the other characters - especially Fitch. I liked seeing each girl develop into an adult and loved the family connections. I just felt lost so many times in reading this book. I struggled to keep all of the details straight and many times I could not figure out if the page I was reading was about Sharon or V's POV. I think if the chapters were titled Sharon or V, it would have helped me. I grew pretty frustrated. That said, it is a magical story and the story of how the Loom Tree constantly evolves was interesting. (from Goodreads)

The Moon and the Sun
Vonda N. McIntyre
I don't give away spoilers in my reviews. Thank you to Vonda N. McIntyre and Jo Fletcher Books for a copy I won in a contest. Marie-Josephe and her priest brother, Yves, serve in Louis XIV's court. The King wants Yves to capture a rare sea monster desperately. Yves has a scientific mind as well as a priestly one. Marie-Josephe also has a scientific mind along with artistic skills. She is eager to help her brother in the study of the sea monster by drawing the illustrations during the autopsy. Marie-Josephe is a sensitive soul and secretly wants to marry and have children. I don't give away spoilers and it's very hard not to at this point in the review.... I loved the court setting, Marie-Josephe's increasing bravery, Yves' struggle between his scientific mind and his religious one. The book did seem like a long read but only because it was so full of details. That's not a bad thing and certainly made the magical side come to life. (from Goodreads)

Forget Me Not
Stacy Willingham
Another good thriller from Stacy Willingham. I listened to the audiobook version of this and I’m not sure if that caused me to not like it as much as her others or I just didn’t like the story as much. Regardless, it had a great unpredictable twist at the end that I loved. The ending was so satisfying and had great closure after the roller coaster the book took you on.

Diary of a wimpy kid wrecking ball
Jeff kinney
I read this as an audiobook with my 2 kids, it was fine. I think that I relate to the mom. She always tries so hard and yet it’s never appreciated. Just like me. I’m the best! Just like Susan heffly!
